About the Role A public company in the West Valley is looking for a Director of Accounting. This newly created role involves overseeing month-end close processes, consolidations, and reviewing technical accounting and financial reporting. Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

15+ years of accounting experience

Public accounting experience is mandatory

Active CPA certification and/or experience in a public company

Proven people management skills

Biotech industry experience preferred, but candidates with a strong inventory accounting background may also be considered

Key Responsibilities

Lead monthly and quarterly financial close processes

Oversee all operational accounting functions

Ensure internal controls, policies, and procedures are robust and compliant

Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team

Maintain financial accuracy and transparency through operational standards

Collaborate with external auditors, legal, and internal stakeholders for compliance and reporting

Oversee documentation and testing of internal controls per SOX 404 standards

Work with internal and external auditors to address control deficiencies

Develop and update accounting policies in line with regulatory changes

Participate in ERP system design and implementation
