A Westside manufacturing company is looking for a Director of Accounting role to join their executive team. This individual will lead the accounting organization, will oversee all accounting functions including financial reporting, AP/AR, technical accounting, internal controls, tax, treasury, and audit. In addition to building a best-in-class team, you’ll be the key player in scaling systems, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance as the business expands through acquisitions and new ventures. To be successful in this role, the Director of Accounting will need to have great communication, analytical, and decision-making skills. What do you need in this Director of Accounting role? 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics Active CPA license Public accounting foundation Proven ability to lead and scale accounting functions Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and technical accounting Advanced Excel Strong interpersonal and communication skills with executive presence Experience in inventory or product-based environment What will you do in this Director of Accounting role? Lead and mentor a growing accounting team while overseeing all core accounting functions (GL, AP/AR, reporting, treasury, tax, controls) Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting Collaborate with FP&A and other departments to support strategic planning and business decisions Develop and enforce company-wide accounting policies and maintain documentation in a centralized accounting manual Research complex accounting issues, produce technical memos, and ensure compliance with changing standards Own and drive special projects including acquisitions, business integrations, and financial systems upgrades Support valuations and coordinate with external partners for audits and compliance efforts Oversee internal controls, process design, and risk management initiatives Partner with third-party tax advisors and banking institutions on compliance, cash management, and financing Serve as a key voice in executive discussions, bringing accounting expertise to evolving business models and operational challenges What is in this Director of Accounting role for you?
