National Energy Storage Electrical Leader Westwood Professional Services, Inc. The National Energy Storage Electrical Leader manages the Energy Storage Electrical Team within the Renewables Division. They concentrate on executing efficient service operations, formulating and deploying service strategies, enhancing service offerings, and nurturing the development of the team's current and future leaders. They are accountable for the performance of all service team members. They work closely with market and division leadership to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. They cultivate a positive, professional culture of innovation and excellence. Duties and Responsibilities
Role Description: • Demonstrate ethical leadership, behavior, and decision-making. • Provide leadership and technical resources to the Team, ensuring delivery of high-quality professional services to clients in the renewable energy sector. • Develop and implement a comprehensive service strategy. • Foster a culture of innovation and excellence. • Develop leaders within the Team. • Utilize creativity, foresight, and sound judgment to anticipate and resolve new challenges. • Make authoritative decisions and recommendations that influence organizational activities and culture. • Establish priorities and reconcile competing interests. • Integrate engineering, economics, and risk analysis into solutions for complex challenges. • Identify, recognize, and promote new service offerings. • Grow client relationships at all levels. Role Responsibilities: 1) Business Leadership Manage the Teams technical, operational, legal, and financial matters. Determine strategic objectives and requirements by:Developing and implementing strategies for the Team organization and evolution that align with the organization's goals, focusing on innovation and growthOffering a clear vision for career advancement opportunities Lead the Team by:Fostering staff developmentEfficiently allocating resources and managing service teams to support projects and clientsBalancing workloads across offices and markets while ensuring overall Team utilizationMonitoring utilization and key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform hiring decisionsManaging professional licenses according to the needs of the Markets and clientsOverseeing hiring, firing, promotions, and compensation for the Team, with input from Engineering ManagersOffering recommendations for compensation and benefits based on industry trends and staff feedbackIdentifying technical resource requirementsCultivating, sustaining, and enhancing a strong culture for the Team that aligns with Westwood’s corporate values Develop organizational policies and procedures. Suggest necessary facilities, personnel, and funds for programs and projects. 2) Staff Development Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of professionals across multiple offices, fostering a culture of dedication and accountability while managing and balancing staff workloads. Promote effective teamwork and leadership principles to create effective solutions for engineering challenges. Promote and establish professional attitudes within the organization. Implement staff development plans for technical, management, and leadership skills. Implement an ongoing mentorship plan for all Team members. Identify training programs that should be extended to the entire Team. Assess the effectiveness of leaders and teams. Recognize and cultivate leaders within the Team. 3) Quality Set standards, training, and quality objectives for the Team. Collaborate with the Principal Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Operations Leader to establish, implement, monitor, and maintain procedures and quality standards for work products, ensuring consistency and efficiency across offices. Evaluate and mitigate risks in proposals, projects, and deliverables. Partner with other teams to develop and implement standards while enhancing organizational processes and communication. 4) Technical Responsibilities Develop standards and guidelines. Lead the technical aspect of the Team. Integrate advanced concepts to solve complex problems. Engage in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues. 5) Business Development Support Drive service and market revenue growth. Explore and expand additional service-based products or capabilities with Market input and consensus. Support Market-driven business development by offering technical expertise. Engage with national clients regarding new products or with new client opportunities. Maintain existing client relationships. Enhance client connections at all levels. Address escalation issues from Market teams and clients. Direction Received: Receive administrative supervision with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. Supervisory Responsibility: Direct reports include Engineering Managers, Lead Engineers, Project Engineers, and Principal Engineers. Responsible for staff performance, ensuring adherence to deadlines, scope, and budget. Success Measures: Meeting Team revenue and utilization goals Ensuring smooth operations for all Engineering Manager’s teams. Effectively managing the Engineering Managers. Identifying, recognizing, and promoting new service offerings. Recognizing and cultivating leaders within the team. Growing client relationships at all levels. Required Skills
Required Technical Skills: Extensive understanding of renewable energy markets and services. Thorough knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and quality assurance practices. Ability to support multi-disciplinary project work with a comprehensive grasp of all Westwood Markets and Services. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, . Commitment to lifelong learning to stay updated on contemporary issues. Required Personal Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead by example, showcasing strong judgment, trust, honesty, and professionalism. Leadership expertise in business operations, team building, and technical leadership. Strong financial acumen and understanding of legal issues related to engineering practices. Required Experience
Qualifications: 15+ years 8+ years of experience in engineering consulting 5+ years of experience leading design teams Experience working for: (1) an engineering consulting firm or (2) EPCs, developers, or construction contractors in the renewable energy sector. Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program. Professional Engineer professional certification
