The Importance of the Role
The Director of Medical Training & Field Effectiveness is a strategic leader within Global Medical Affairs, responsible for enhancing the effectiveness, efficiency, and scientific impact of Field Medical teams. This role drives scientific onboarding, capability development, operational excellence, and performance measurement across global field medical functions. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the scientific or clinical areas relevant to Sarepta’s programs, medical education, field operations, and stakeholder engagement, with a passion for elevating scientific exchange and field impact. This role reports to the Head of Medical Operations & Program Management and Chief of Staff of Global Medical Affairs, and has significant responsibility across Global Medical Affairs. Develop, execute, and maintain the scientific onboarding curriculum for Global Medical Affairs
Leverage approved Field Medical resources, publications, or other existing internal resources to deliver scientific onboarding; create and maintain supplemental training material, as needed
Lead the onboarding process, deliver the curriculum, communicate feedback on individual’s onboarding progress, and certify Field Medical personnel prior to external engagement
Remain up to date on all knowledge necessary to deliver a contemporaneous, strategically aligned scientific onboarding curriculum; collaborate with Global Medical Affairs Leads to ensure alignment with medical strategy and scientific narrative
Develop a training plan based on GMA’s annual strategic medical plan, publication plan, and consultation with the medical training steering committee
Facilitate monthly medical training steering committee meetings to discuss changes in the training plan, as needed, and identify gaps in education to be addressed via future training
Collaborate with cross-functional subject matter experts to deliver on the training plan; coordinate the execution
Design and implement tools, frameworks, and training programs to elevate field medical performance
Work collaboratively with the Field Medical Leadership to identify areas for field medical improvement and further career development
Support the rollout of initiatives such as territory assessments and HCP engagement planning
Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, Analytics) to optimize field operations
Establish processes for capturing and translating field insights into strategic input for medical
Define and track KPIs to measure field impact, training effectiveness, and continuous improvement
Support reporting on insights, metrics, and performance trends
Support the evolution of CRM platforms (e.g., Veeva), analytics dashboards, and reporting systems to enhance field engagement and insight generation
Drive system enhancements, business rule implementation, and user training to ensure optimal utilization
Collaborate with Commercial Training, Legal, and Compliance to support Commercial onboarding and training needs including major meetings that may involve GMA
More about You
Advanced Degree in Physical Sciences, Nursing, or Healthcare required
12+ years of relevant experience, including Medical Science Liaison, Medical Training, and/or Field Operations; proven track record of success
Disease area knowledge, ideally in DMD and LGMD
Knowledge of the national healthcare and access environment
Ability to succeed in an ambiguous environment
Proven track record of strategic thinking and ability to transition to tactical execution
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and verbal/written communications

Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges.
