Our commitment to excellence extends to our marketing efforts, and we are seeking a Director of Lifecycle Marketing to lead and elevate our data-centered marketing initiatives. Ascension is seeking a strategic and innovative Director of Lifecycle Marketing to design and scale patient journeys that span the full engagement spectrum—from lead generation through appointment conversion, repeat bookings, referrals, churn prevention, and winback. This role will lead the strategy and execution of automated, insight-driven journeys that deliver measurable growth and improve the patient experience. A successful candidate will have a strong background in healthcare marketing, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, a deep experience in segmentation strategy, and working knowledge of Salesforce Data Cloud. They will be comfortable leading in agile marketing environments and bring a proactive, results-driven mindset to optimizing campaign effectiveness across the entire lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Lifecycle Marketing Strategy & Execution: Lead the creation and optimization of full-funnel CRM journeys to acquire, engage, retain, and win back patients across digital channels. Tailor messaging and cadence based on behavioral, demographic, and clinical data signals.
Journey Innovation & Automation: Develop automated, behavior-based journeys using Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Apply journey-building best practices to support scalable, evergreen campaigns with a test-and-learn foundation.
Segmentation & Data Strategy: Lead segmentation strategy using Data Cloud and other data platforms to inform targeting and personalization. Develop actionable audience strategies that align with marketing goals and care needs.
Next-Gen Journey Innovation & Orchestration: Design and test advanced capabilities—such as AI-triggered segments, content, predictive modeling, and real-time personalization—while collaborating with cross-functional partners to orchestrate seamless, multi-channel journeys across email, SMS, call center, and direct mail.
KPI Accountability: Own lifecycle performance across key metrics: lead generation, appointment bookings (first and repeat), referrals, churn prevention, and winback. Collaborate with analytics teams to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
Agile Pod Collaboration: Act as lifecycle lead in agile marketing pods—working closely with creative, analytics, and production to bring new journeys to life. Manage backlog, prioritization, and optimization of key workstreams.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with CRM Market Engagement Director, CRM Ops, and Direct Mail teams to ensure lifecycle journeys are integrated into the broader CRM ecosystem and aligned with systemwide strategic priorities.
Project Management Oversight: Apply project management skills to organize journey planning, manage timelines, and ensure alignment across all execution partners.
Requirements Education: High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management. Additional Preferences Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
8+ years in CRM, lifecycle, or digital marketing, ideally within healthcare or complex service industries.
Deep experience designing and launching lifecycle journeys aligned to lead generation, conversion, and retention KPIs.
Previous work within agile marketing teams or pods required.
Proven experience in journey automation, segmentation, and audience strategy.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (including Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Email Studio).
Working knowledge of Salesforce Data Cloud and how it supports dynamic segmentation and real-time engagement.
Strong understanding of data-driven targeting, tagging, and personalization strategies.
Familiarity with A/B testing, performance reporting, and optimization frameworks.
Basic understanding of project management tools and agile workflows.
