Position Overview We are seeking a Director, Integrated Media Strategist, to lead performance media planning and buying across all agency clients. This role will drive integrated media strategies that generate leads, accelerate acquisition, and fuel long-term growth for our clients in CPG and Pharma. Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer , the Director will manage the end-to-end media process — from strategy and planning to vendor negotiations and performance optimizations — while mentoring a team of media activation specialists. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in an agile, small-agency environment and loves the blend of strategy, execution, and client engagement. Key Responsibilities Lead the performance media planning and buying for all agency clients across paid social, search, display, programmatic, and emerging channels. Develop integrated lead generation strategies that connect media investment to measurable outcomes in CPG and Pharma. Create and manage an ongoing test-and-learn agenda to optimize campaigns and uncover innovative performance drivers. Partner with the Chief Strategy Officer to evolve the agency’s performance media offering and support overall business growth. Serve as the strategic lead and trusted advisor for client media programs, presenting strategies, performance updates, and insights. Build and manage relationships with media vendors, publishers, and platforms to unlock opportunities and negotiate best-in-class rates. Play a key role in new business pitches by crafting performance media strategies and presenting to prospective clients. Manage and mentor a team of media activation specialists, ensuring flawless campaign execution and encouraging professional growth. Foster a collaborative, curious, and performance-driven culture within the media team. Performance & Optimization Oversee campaign reporting and analytics, translating insights into actionable recommendations. Ensure all plans align with client goals, compliance requirements (especially in Pharma), and agency best practices. Stay ahead of industry trends, tools, and innovations to bring cutting-edge ideas to clients. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) The success of the Director, Integrated Media Strategist will be measured by: Media Plan Acceptance Rate : % of media plans approved by clients without major revisions (target: 90%+). Client Satisfaction Score : Measured quarterly via internal surveys and client feedback. Client Retention Rate : Maintaining and growing client accounts Organic Account Growth : Quarterly measurement of incremental client spend or expanded scope driven by strategic recommendations. Contribution to new business wins via pitch involvement and strategic recommendations. Team Development: Demonstrated growth and skill progression of junior media specialists. Qualifications 8+ years of experience in performance media planning and buying, with at least 3 years in a leadership role . Proven track record in lead generation campaigns for CPG and Pharma brands. Experience in small-agency or boutique environments where resourcefulness and agility are essential. Strong client-facing experience — able to lead strategy discussions, build trust, and present with confidence. Deep expertise in paid social, search, programmatic, display, and performance video. Familiarity with Pharma regulations and HCP/DTP targeting is a must. Experience contributing to new business pitches and winning work.
