Position Summary :
Oversee and manage the Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax, and Unclaimed Property functions for Stellantis Financial Services US Corp and its subsidiaries (“SFS”), the captive finance arm of Stellantis US. Ensure that processes within these areas are efficient, compliant, and designed to mitigate financial and operational risks. Partner with management to identify, research, and implement tax savings strategies and refund opportunities, while maintaining adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain efficient processes for Sales & Use Tax, Property Tax, and Unclaimed Property compliance across SFS’s leasing and finance operations.
Oversee the accurate and timely filing, reporting, and remittance of all state and local sales, property, and unclaimed property tax returns.
Manage SFS’s sales & use tax liabilities related to both leasing activities and company purchases.
Identify and mitigate tax-related risks, ensuring compliance while safeguarding the business from financial exposure.
Lead and manage audits and appeals for sales & use tax, property tax, and unclaimed property, including communication, negotiation, and resolution.
Research, evaluate, and implement tax planning and refund opportunities to optimize financial outcomes.
Partner with internal stakeholders to improve processes and internal controls in all assigned tax areas.
Monitor and respond to legislative or regulatory changes affecting sales & use tax, property tax, and unclaimed property.
Ensure effective documentation and record-keeping to support compliance, audit defense, and management reporting.
Provide supervisory oversight to staff and external service providers, including managing, recruiting, training, developing, and evaluating the indirect tax team to foster accountability and professional growth.

Required Experience:
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in sales tax and property tax within the auto finance / auto leasing industry.
Minimum of 3 years of management experience, with proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing tax teams while managing external advisors and service providers.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Skills Required:
Deep knowledge of sales & use tax, property tax, and unclaimed property laws, regulations, and compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing tax teams, while managing external advisors and service providers.
Skilled in identifying tax planning opportunities, mitigating risks, and leveraging data to drive informed decision-making.
St rong ability to communicate complex tax concepts to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, fostering alignment and compliance.
Experience managing sales tax / property tax audits
Travel 0-10% - as required on an as needed basis.
Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Detroit, MI
Qualifications Preferred:
Masters of Tax or Accounting
CPA

Schedule This position requires the ability to work various shifts to accommodate business needs. Typically, between the hours of 8AM-6PM Monday through Friday and on weekends as needed. Travel is required 10% of the time.
