Job Information Salary Range: $124,800 - $198,900
The base salary range represents a good faith salary range for this position. This position is eligible for annual incentive pay and has the opportunity for continued salary growth. If you are hired at American Water your base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as market, geography, skills, education and/or experience. Primary Role The Director of Identity and Access Management (IAM) will lead a team responsible for safeguarding access to critical systems and data across the enterprise. This role oversees the design, implementation, and governance of IAM solutions and processes, with specific responsibility for Microsoft Active Directory, SAP GRC, Okta, and SailPoint. The successful candidate will be both a strategic leader and a hands-on contributor, ensuring the utility meets regulatory, compliance, and security standards while enabling business operations. Key Accountabilities Documenting Policies, Procedures and Standards: 10% Project Requirements: 20% Coordination: 40% Management Activities: 30% Knowledge/Skills Team Leadership, Water Utility Experience, Project involvement, Azure Active Directory, Active Directory, Okta, SAP GRC, Sailpoint. Strong knowledge of digital technologies and applicability for the water and wastewater industries Demonstrated ability to apply IAM themes to solve practical problems in a high-tech environment with multi- function teams for complex systems. In-depth knowledge of IAM concepts, including SSO, MFA, privileged access management (PAM), and identity governance. Experience/Education 8+ year’s experience working in Information Technology field required with an additional 2+ years focused on IAM. 2+ years of management experience leading IAM teams. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory, SAP GRC, Okta, and SailPoint. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or similar technology field is required [equivalent work experience will be considered]. Master's degree is preferred. Appropriate technical certification in specialty area preferred. Travel Requirements As necessary, up to 20% Other Excellent decision-making ability, balancing what is right with what is realistic. Strong verbal and written communication skills for a wide variety of audiences including proven ability to deliver conference presentations.
