Job Description CooperSurgical is a leading fertility and women's healthcare company dedicated to putting time on the side of women, babies, and families at the healthcare moments that matter most in life. CooperSurgical is at the forefront of delivering innovative assisted reproductive technology and genomic solutions that enhance the work of ART professionals to the benefit of families. We currently offer over 600 clinically relevant medical devices to women's healthcare providers, including testing and treatment options.
Reporting to the Global Vice President, Human Resources, with a dotted line to the Executive Vice President (EVP) Science & Innovation, the Director, Human Resources will provide senior HR leadership to the Life Sciences Operations and Innovation, the Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and R&D organizations and their leadership teams at CooperSurgical. This role involves being a member of the Global Science & Innovation leadership team, supporting talent management, organizational effectiveness, culture, and employee engagement, and managing the HR Business Partner team supporting the life sciences, QA & RA organizations. The position can be based in Trumbull, CT or Livingston, NJ.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a cohesive HR strategy aligned with global and functional priorities.
Support the Science & Innovation business in achieving HR strategic goals.
Collaborate with leadership for long-term planning related to HR and organizational development.
Talent Development & Management
Create comprehensive talent strategies for client groups.
Establish robust succession planning for critical roles.
Identify development needs and build a diverse talent pipeline.
Culture, Engagement & Inclusion
Foster a collaborative culture that aligns with Cooper Values.
Maintain performance management processes and communication of organizational changes.
Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Core HR
Lead HR programs and projects with cross-functional scope.
Serve as the HR contact for Science & Innovation Leadership.
Develop a team of HR professionals to deliver innovative solutions.
Ensure legal compliance and manage employee relations issues.
Utilize people analytics to inform decisions.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of business dynamics and organizational design.
Experience in building HR strategies for multi-location operations.
Ability to handle ambiguity and lead in a multinational environment.
Strong leadership, cultural awareness, and strategic planning skills.
Knowledge of employment laws across countries and talent development.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Work Environment Office-based with 10-15% travel, including international travel. Onsite presence required 5 days/week.
Experience
Minimum 10 years in HR, with management experience in medical devices, biotech, or pharma, supporting QA/RA/R&D preferred.
Proven ability to develop HR strategies for global organizations.
Education
Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
