What We’re Looking For: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director, HR Business Partner (HRBP) to support our Partnerships organization. This role will be a critical partner to the Chief Partnerships Officer providing strategic HR guidance, talent strategies, and organizational development support. The Director will lead a small team of HRBPs and/or specialists, driving performance, development, and HR operational excellence across their group. Central to the role is advocating for 2U’s culture by ensuring culture and employee experience inform our advice and decisions to maintain a culture of inclusivity, accountability, and trust. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: Act as a trusted HR advisor to the Partnerships executive and their leadership teams by developing expertise within assigned client groups, identifying business needs, and aligning HR to address those needs. Partner with Sales, Finance, and Compensation on the design and implementation of effective sales incentive and commission plans that drive business growth. Lead and support workforce planning, talent management, organization design, and change management initiatives. Provide guidance on HR policies, talent development strategies, and employee relations. Use people analytics and business data to drive decision-making and measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives. Collaborate with Compensation to appropriately level positions, analyze market data, and develop compensation offers that are competitive and internally equitable. Partner with the business to ensure sustainable future growth by providing best practice guidance on talent planning, change management, and organizational structures. Act as an SME for employee relations matters and handle or guide complex ED investigations and resolutions. Recommend and deliver appropriate disciplinary actions in line with 2U policy, and guide managers through misconduct and performance processes to minimize risk. Provide ongoing coaching to managers and employees on performance management concerns. Advocate for our company culture and champion inclusive practices. Things That Should Be In Your Background: Bachelor’s degree required; degree in HR, Business or Communications preferred 7 - 10 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified 5 years’ experience conducting formal investigations and handling complex employee relations issues Other Attributes That Will Help You In This Role: Experience working in a Sales environment Familiarity with HRIS systems or reporting tools Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels Ability to approach each scenario from multiple perspectives and focus on achieving defined results Ability to develop leaders and work with a diverse, fast-paced team Proven ability to challenge and motivate management to foster innovation with mutual respect Ability to align human and non-human resources to HR processes for 2U Highly creative and influential Success developing leaders within an organization Location/Remote While this position is open to remote candidates across the U.S., we will prioritize those who live in the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area and who are available to come into our Headquarters in Arlington, VA two days a week.
