How You’ll help us to connect the world:
We are seeking seasoned Director, Hardware Engineering  to lead the design, development, and delivery of next-generation Passive Optical Network (PON) hardware solutions. In this role, you will oversee a team of talented hardware engineers, drive innovation across optical access technologies, and ensure products meet performance, quality, and cost objectives. This is a leadership role that requires a mix of technical expertise, people management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the PON hardware engineering team, including mentoring, performance management, and team growth.
Own the end-to-end hardware development lifecycle for PON products—from requirements gathering and architecture through design, validation, and release.
Partner with system, software, and product management teams to define hardware roadmaps and align with market needs.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (ITU-T, IEEE, MEF) and carrier-grade quality requirements.
Oversee hardware design reviews, validation testing, and issue resolution to ensure high reliability and manufacturability.
Collaborate with suppliers, ODMs, and manufacturing partners to drive cost, scalability, and supply chain resilience.
Track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring timely product launches.
Champion innovation in optical access hardware, power efficiency, and high-performance design
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in hardware development for CMTS and PON products.
At least 10 years of experience leading high-performing engineering teams, including both direct and reports.
Leading the development of new products from concept and feasibility to production and field deployment in the cable communications and potentially telecommunications markets.
Demonstrated experience in cable communications company with skills in digital, RF &/or PON.
Track record of bringing products to market and support over several years.
Demonstrated project management experience with multiple products, often in parallel.
Demonstrated track record of working with customers and successfully resolving technical issues as needed.
Track record in successfully bringing several products through regularity and compliance.
Sustaining experience with support for both factory and customers.
BS in Engineering. MS also an advantage.

Our salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. This position's expected total compensation (base salary and commission range) is $153,300.00-$199,500.00
The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company’s Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, two weeks of paid vacation (prorated based on start date), as well as other leave options.
