Cytokinetics is a late-stage, specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which cardiac muscle performance is compromised. As a leader in muscle biology and the mechanics of muscle performance, the company is developing small molecule drug candidates specifically engineered to impact myocardial muscle function and contractility.
The Global Forecasting and Analytics Lead plays a critical role in driving data-informed strategic decision-making across the organization. This individual is responsible for leading the development, management, and communication of short-term and long-term product forecasts and scenario planning across our pipeline and commercial portfolio. This individual will partner cross-functionally to support decision-making related to budget planning, launch readiness, lifecycle management, and business development. In addition to forecasting, the lead will oversee performance analytics to support launch planning and portfolio prioritization across key markets. This position will report directly to the Senior Director of Business Insights and Analytics.
Responsibilities
Establish Center of Excellence for Forecasting and Analytics to drive continuous improvement of forecasting tools, processes, and governance. Develop enterprise-wide forecasting frameworks and capabilities that align with corporate strategy, portfolio prioritization, and financial planning. Lead forecasting efforts for in-line and pipeline products across multiple therapeutic areas (pre-launch, launch, and post-launch). Develop and maintain robust and dynamic forecast models (Patient, Demand and Revenue) in Excel with macros or custom forecast platforms. Collaborate with Commercial, Finance, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and R&D to incorporate input into forecasting assumptions. Prepare and present forecasts to senior leadership, clearly communicating key assumptions, risks, scenario planning and sensitivities. Support strategic planning initiatives, including long-range planning, operating budgets, and investor relations. Integrate insights from market research, epidemiology, competitive intelligence, and real-world data into forecasts. Partner with Business Development on opportunity assessments and due diligence for potential assets or acquisitions. Establish and lead data governance for forecasting and analytics practices across global markets. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Collaborative and influential leadership style, with the ability to build strong partnerships across the organization. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required, MBA, MS, or advanced degree in life sciences, finance, or related field preferred. 10+ years of experience in industry as a lead role supporting commercial organization. Global forecasting experience is a strong plus. Proven experience with analyzing large amounts of financial and operational data to derive meaningful trends, map connections, and identify drivers of key P&L line items. Experience with advanced forecast modeling and software (e.g., Forecast Pro, Crystal Ball) Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. A proven record of leading and delivering strategic initiatives for commercial executive leadership teams with tangible results using advanced analytics expertise. Experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry with deep understanding of datasets for Sales data, Patient/Claims data (APLD), EvaluatePharma preferred. High business acumen with ability to distill complex problems, create structured and actionable recommendations in collaboration with cross-functional colleagues. Pay Range:
