Key Functions
Fundraising & Revenue Growth Execute a comprehensive strategy to increase foundation and corporate support, focusing on both restricted and unrestricted funding. Secure significant multi-year grants aligned with Menninger’s priorities in psychiatric care, mental health, research, and education. Build and manage a robust pipeline of donors, ensuring continued revenue growth (10% year one, 20% year two, 30% year three). Corporate & Foundation Prospecting & Lead Generation Strong prospect research skills to identify and qualify new corporate and foundation donors with experience using wealth screening tools, donor analytics, and industry research to build a robust funding pipeline. Work closely with internal teams to develop customized funding proposals that align with donor priorities and institutional needs. Donor Cultivation & Relationship Management Build and maintain relationships with foundation program officers and corporate key decision-makers, fostering long-term partnerships. Develop tailored engagement plans, including high-impact site visits, donor briefings, and stewardship reports. Present compelling cases for unrestricted support, demonstrating the impact of general operating funds on Menninger’s mission. Strategic Grant Management, Reporting & Accountability Manage the full lifecycle of grants from prospecting and proposal submission to impact reporting and renewal to upgrade gifts. Track and analyze foundation revenue trends, providing regular reports on progress toward annual fundraising goals. Ensure compliance with grant agreements and maintain strong donor stewardship practices. Corporate Sponsorships & Strategic Partnerships Strong ability to develop corporate sponsorship packages structuring cause-marketing campaigns, employee giving programs, and CSR partnerships to maximize value. Ability to leverage social media, digital platforms, and public relations strategies to increase corporate and foundation visibility. Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or 10 years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred or certification as CFRE, PMP or other related vertical. 7-10 years development experience with a non-profit or related institution. Minimum of 5 years of direct Corporation/Fundraising experience and demonstrated experience securing revenue. Experience: Proven track record of securing six-figure foundation and corporate gifts, increasing philanthropic revenue year over year. Experience in lead generation, donor research, and grant strategy to identify new funding sources. Ability to cultivate and manage relationships with foundation and corporate leaders, trustees, program officers and other key stakeholders. Proficiency in CRM systems, grant tracking software, and donor research tools. Knowledge of psychiatric care, mental health research, and medical education fundraising is a plus.
