Job Summary:
The Director for Student Pharmacist Practice is primarily responsible for the development of student practice courses, guidelines for professional behavior, implementation of a database management system, preceptor quality, student advising, and coordination of all related activities. This position has oversight for implementation of 30% of the Doctor of Pharmacy educational program. The responsibilities of this position include assisting in the accreditation efforts for the Doctor of Pharmacy program, working with the health care community to develop partnerships and sites for faculty and student placements. The Director for Student Pharmacist Practice will participate in development and implementation of quality assurance. The incumbent has primary oversight for the student component of the program. This position, non-tenured and at the rank of clinical assistant professor or lecturer, serves as a direct report to the Assistant Dean for Experiential Education of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Doctor of Pharmacy program. Required Qualifications: 1. RPh or Pharm.D. with academic experience preferred.2. Must be eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist.3. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with faculty.
4. Ability to develop and maintain effective and constructive collaborative relationships with faculty and administration in College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and throughout the University.5. Ability to handle multiple priorities; excellent organizational skills.6. Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.7. Valid driver’s license and accessibility to transportation for travel between campuses and to off-site locations.8. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.
