Fleet Director Job Description Bigham Cable Construction, Inc. is a utility construction company with operations throughout the Southeast. We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our company in a Fleet Director position located in Piedmont, SC. The Fleet Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's fleet vehicles and equipment, including acquisition, maintenance, inspection, and disposal. They ensure the fleet operates efficiently, safely, and within designated budgets, while also adhering to all relevant regulations and safety protocols. Develops and implements policies, procedures, and safety protocols for the fleet. Recruits, hires, and retains qualified personnel. Provides training and professional development opportunities for the team. Monitors and evaluates employee performance. Maintenance and Operations: Establishes and maintains preventative maintenance programs. Schedules and oversees vehicle maintenance and repairs. Manages the procurement and inventory of assets, repairs, parts, and supplies. Ensures all vehicles are properly maintained and in safe working order. Oversees the disposal of scheduled or out-of-service vehicles and equipment. Budget and Finance: Works with the team to develop and manage the fleet budget. Monitors and controls fleet expenses. Identifies and implements cost-saving strategies. Recommends vehicle replacement schedules and strategies. Tracks and analyzes fleet performance data to optimize resource allocation. Compliance and Safety: Ensures compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry standards. Conducts regular safety inspections and audits. Assist in the development and implementation of safety training programs. Investigates and resolves fleet-related safety incidents. Technology and Innovation: Implements and utilizes fleet management systems. Stays up-to-date on new technologies and trends in fleet management. Explores opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Communication and Reporting: Prepares and presents reports on fleet operations and expenses. Communicates effectively with leadership, local management, staff, and vendors. Collaborates with other departments, such as finance and safety.
