The Director of the Field Tools Center of Excellence will report directly to the Lead Director of the U.S. Therapeutics Field Planning & Analytics Team (FPAT) as part of the broader Analytics & Performance Excellence (APEX) team. The role involves leading a team, including first- and second-line managers, to deliver and innovate core capabilities vital for over 6,000 field personnel at AbbVie. The ideal candidate will have experience and expertise in Salesforce Effectiveness, with the ability to challenge the status quo and shape the future of the business.
Leadership and Partnership:
Inspirational Leader: Identify and leverage unique developmental opportunities for team members, enhancing their technical and leadership skills.
Effective Business Partner and Communicator: Collaborate across functional boundaries with Brand and Functional Leaders to drive business results.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Future-Fit Enterprise Initiatives: Align initiatives with the overarching U.S. strategy and work closely with Senior Leadership in key areas.
Vision for Analytical Field Tools: Develop a roadmap for the future of AbbVie’s GenAIsys, a next-generation field AI tool.
Lead transformation of Buy and Bill platforms and affiliations management tools.
Evaluate and implement innovative solutions, vendors, capabilities, and financial investments for analytical field tools.
Next-Gen CRM Strategy and Governance: Develop and own the vision for transformational CRM field tools, and assess potential solutions, vendors, capabilities, and investments.
Lead AbbVie-wide strategy and governance for field tools and CRM.
Shape strategic spend and speaker programming budgeting strategies.
Participate in benchmarking initiatives and represent AbbVie within industry networks.
Deliver on APEX FPAT Vision: Launch and champion FPAT's vision by aligning enterprise initiatives with sales team requirements and leveraging relevant technology.
Act as a change agent, inspiring and motivating colleagues, leaders, and business partners.
Facilitate collaboration across cross-functional and expert teams to enhance field effectiveness.
Manage and prioritize various project ideas, ensuring inclusivity and informed decision-making.
Key Stakeholders: The Director is accountable to APEX FPAT Leadership, facilitating approvals and maintaining accountability across business stakeholders. The role emphasizes building strong partnerships, effective working practices, and alignment with cross-functional leads. Additional stakeholders include BTS, brand team leadership, and pilot teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with 8-10 years of relevant experience in field leadership, marketing, and analytics.
Prior 3-5 years of experience in field or functional leadership, business management, or consulting.
Strong analytical experience, preferably in pharmaceutical sales analytics.
Experience in leading organizational change initiatives and fostering an engaged team culture.
In-depth knowledge of pharma/biotech and healthcare industry operations.
Understanding of industry legal, analytical, and compliance landscapes; ability to evaluate and mitigate risks.
Demonstrated leadership in developing organizational strategy in complex environments.
Ability to operate autonomously in dynamic settings.
Exceptional strategic and business acumen to synthesize information and generate insights.
Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and facilitate high collaboration levels.
Ability to lead without authority and execute across diverse stakeholders. Advanced skills in coaching, training, and mentoring.
Travel Requirements: Travel is required approximately 15% of the time.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
