40 POSITION PURPOSE :
Acts as administrative director and technical director with considerable latitude for initiative, independent judgement, planning and action. Responsible for coordination of the objectives of the department with administration and will act upon all pertinent recommendations. Plans, coordinates, directs and supervises the non-medical aspects of all diagnostic and therapeutic diagnostic imaging services. Responsible for developing, interpreting and applying the policies, budget and long range plan for the facilities, equipment and personnel as they apply to the diagnostic imaging department and off site facilities as needed. Responsible for the overall hospital policies and goals and for the safe and proper operation of the department equipment, quality of service offered and utilization of personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Analyzes and evaluates all in-house diagnostic services and related off site facilities to assure quality customer services.
Recommends and directs action plans for equipment modification, new equipment acquisition and essential department construction/modifications.
Establishes five working budgets on an annual basis for effectiveness and appropriateness to the overall positive financial contribution margin for CGHMC.
Maintains radiological services as required by the IEMA/IDNS (illinois Department of Nuclear Safety) and other appropriate state, local and federal standards for equipment, facilities, and personnel.
Responsible fro the technical aspects of radiation safety of the staff and equipment by recommending programs, monitoring, and evaluation of safety programs. Responsible for the administrative preparation of reports, documents, payroll, statistical surveys and other data as required by top level management.
The director must be active in professional organizations, meetings an seminars at the state, local and national levels.
Meets basic job requirements for all managerial positions at CGH Medical Center.
Directs the introduction of Electronic Imaging concepts and PACS initiatives.
SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Business required. Master’s Degree in management or related field preferred.
Six+ years of progressively responsible experience in radiology or radiology business management required.
Computer literacy with in-depth knowledge of all Windows based software applications strongly preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills required.
Compensation Range
