NBCUniversal Advertising Platforms & Operations (AP&O) is responsible for the product development, project management, and day-to-day operations of NBCUniversal’s full advertising technology suite. From program development to product management to sales operations, our division services both internal and external customers in support of NBCUniversal’s $10B+ annual advertising business. Together, we’re building the platform that powers the future of advertising at NBCU. The AdSales Identity and Data Product team within AP&O is responsible for collection, standardization, and management of NBCUniversal’s owned and licensed data products and assets. The Director, Data Partnerships reports to the SVP, Data Product & Partnerships. This role will manage the relationships, negotiations and contracting with strategic data and technology vendors used by NBCU AdSales teams. This role will partner closely with the broader NBCU Media Group to acquire third-party data and technologies based on market demand, advertiser need and the requirements of internal teams. As part of data ownership, the management of data acquisition occurs both through direct data engagements and/or through existing VAR and marketplace partners. Responsibilities: Manage the relationships between NBCU and strategic data and technology partners. This role will be the liaison between broader NBCU teams and the vendor/partner. Vendor management includes management of vendor contracts. Collaborate with members across broader Adsales teams to understand which data assets are needed for performance marketing and advertiser fulfillment. This role will seek out current and/or new vendors to acquire these data and technology needs. End-to-end contracting management: this role will own the contracting and negotiation cycles. This includes: Scoping work with NBCU teams and the vendor Management of internal processes such as Privacy Impact Assessments Partnering with Legal and Procurement on contracting Securing necessary budget requirements Achieving internal approvals for deal engagement At a regular cadence, reviewing spend and gains from vendors in the role’s portfolio to ensure NBCU is in the best agreement for current needs When applicable, collaborate with Procurement and business teams to execute RFIs and RFPs Negotiating the best possible deal for NBCU, and if applicable, renewing existing agreements
Work closely with the SVP, Data Product & Partnerships to align on future forward vendor requirements and assessments. Provide thought leadership within AdSales teams regarding which procured data and/or technical product are available and best applicable for desired applications. Create executive-level presentation portraying current vendors and solutions with business recommendations. Engage with new potential vendors to vet out their solution(s).
Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements: 5+ years of experience in 3rd party data, technology and identity vendors in the advanced TV advertising ecosystems. Well-developed knowledge of the digital and advanced TV technology ecosystem; deep experience with leading SSPs, ad servers, onboarders, data providers and data marketplaces. Outstanding strategy skills; a well-developed understanding of advertiser data demand and usage patterns; knows how to move quickly and seize opportunities in a rapidly changing media landscape. Desired Characteristics: Demonstrated success in working across an organizational matrix. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. A proven ability to effectively present to senior executives, colleagues, vendors, clients, talent, and other levels of personnel. Ability to share cohesive insights and make recommendations. Ability to articulate vision and direction, communicate effectively and manage performance and accountability. Additional Information: Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
