SUMMARY
As a Director of Data Engineering, you will lead the strategic vision and execution of our data engineering platforms and solutions. You'll be responsible for bridging technical expertise with business strategy to develop scalable data engineering solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with Software Engineering, Data Services, AI and Business teams to translate complex requirements into actionable data pipeline engineering solutions
Drive data platform development through the entire lifecycle from conceptualization to delivery, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Lead cross-functional initiatives to optimize data pipelines, architecture, and infrastructure
Lead the development of technical products and solutions using big data and cloud-based technologies ensuring they are designed and built to be scalable, sustainable and robust.
Present complex technical concepts to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders
Stay current with emerging data technologies and industry best practices to maintain competitive advantage
KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience leading data engineering practice and platforms, or related technical products
Proven track record of successfully leading complex data product initiatives with measurable business impact
Deep understanding of data engineering concepts including ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and modern data stack technologies
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Redshift, Snowflake, GCP Big Query) and their data service offerings
Strong technical background with the ability to engage in detailed architectural discussions leveraging cloud technologies and diverse coding .
Experience with modern data tools like Spark, Kafka, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, and data lake technologies
Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for various audiences
understanding of ML/AI technologies and their data requirements
Experience leading large-scale data transformation initiatives
Track record of successful data product launches in B2B enterprise environments
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; Master's degree
