Overview The Director of Compliance and Ethics will help lead the enterprise compliance program as the organization transforms its services platform into a leading medical/dental integrated healthcare company. The role focuses on building a data-driven, proactive compliance function that can measure and drive improvement across multiple risk areas. Responsibilities Program Development & Implementation: Develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive compliance program that covers medical, dental, and administrative operations. Policies, Training & Preventive Controls: Creates and updates preventive controls, including policies and training, to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry best practices (e.g., Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, HIPAA, Stark Law). Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conducts annual risk assessments, develops mitigation strategies, and monitors changes in laws/regulations to adapt the program accordingly. Monitoring & Auditing: Develops a measurable, data-driven monitoring program for compliance across a large network of provider offices; establishes detective controls that maintain quality patient care without undue burden. Investigation & Remediation: Investigates potential compliance violations, develops corrective action plans, and tracks actions to ensure effectiveness in preventing recurrence. Leadership & Collaboration: Advises executive leadership on compliance matters; collaborates with Legal, Clinical, Finance, HR, Operations, and represents the company with regulatory agencies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience or 8+ years with an advanced degree. Preferred: Master’s degree in a relevant field (healthcare compliance, public health, healthcare administration) or Juris Doctor (JD). Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Deep understanding of regulations across healthcare, particularly within medical primary care and dental provider spaces. Experience designing, implementing, and managing effective compliance programs (risk assessments, policy development, training, monitoring, auditing, reporting). Knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management methodologies and ability to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor compliance risks. Familiarity with compliance management software, GRC platforms, and data analytics tools for monitoring and reporting. Strong ability to identify root causes of issues and develop effective solutions; excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences. Ability to identify risk trends and generate meaningful reports for management and the executive team. Ability to draft, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures that are practical and enforceable. Proven ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders (Legal, HR, IT, Operations, Finance) and external parties (regulators, partners). High personal and professional integrity; ability to see the big picture and align compliance strategies with organizational goals. Proactive mindset to identify and mitigate issues before escalation; adaptable to changing regulatory environments and priorities. Meticulous review of documents, policies, regulations, and data for accuracy and completeness.
