Position Summary Responsible for Health Information Management Department including operations, document imaging and record processing, transcription, coding. Assures compliance with State and Federal regulatory requirements. Serves as a knowledge base in developing and maintaining the electronic health record. Promotes confidentiality and security of health information. Collaborates with Patient Financial Services and clinical departments to assure accurate and timely coding to meet financial goals. Education Bachelors of Health Information Administration - Required Experience 5-7 Years Health Information Administration - Required Coding, Electronic Health Record implementation, Compliance for Health Care License & Certification RHIA, RHIT, CCS or other . related credentials Core Job Functions Assures areas maintaining patient information are compliant with regulatory agencies. Assures managers submit timely performance reviews. Maintains fiscal responsibility for monthly departmental budget. Serve as lead for development of electronic documentation. Assures relevant software applications perform as required. Collaborates with Corporate Compliance to assure policies and procedures concerning privacy, security, and confidentiality. Oversees release of information, ensuring that contracted services maintain health system policies and procedures. Achieves days not final billed goals as established. Maintains processes to provide feedback to Patient Financial Services for failed claim edits, denials, audits, and other procedures necessary to achieve financial goals.
