Fusion Recruiters, in partnership with their client Enerpac , are in search of a proven Director of Category Management & Strategic Sourcing in Milwaukee, WI . (Hybrid - 4 days office and 1 remote)

As the Director of Category Management & Strategic Sourcing you will be charged with leading the Direct Material category sourcing team. You will lead a team of category managers and their global sourcing team to develop strategies which will drive incremental value for their enterprise by leveraging their direct material spend. In addition, you will also be responsible for the optimization of direct spend processes and establishes governance and compliance for direct procurement activities.

Responsible for all aspects of the direct materials team’s focus on category management including developing category strategies and executing strategic sourcing events prioritizing based upon the highest spend, greatest complexity, and most critical/strategic categories creating the largest impact.

Responsible for developing and implementing direct procurement policies and processes

Establishes proper category and supplier strategies to drive optimum value for the enterprise

Supports and leads RFx processes and category management, if needed

Responsible to ensure all risk, compliance and legal requirements related to procurement are followed

Collaborate with Department leaders to manage stakeholder relationships and achieve buy-in for the Sourcing and Procurement strategies

Collaborates cross-functionally to develop a pipeline for future projects.

Supports cross functional departments with supplier negotiation, contract execution, purchase requisition training for direct material spend.

Drives cross-functional project implementation, controls, and training for direct material sourcing activities, as well as providing related corporate-wide communication and direction.

Analyze current spend and find areas to improve service, reduce costs, and streamline purchasing procedures

Responsible for developing and managing supplier relationship management (SRM)

Manages and develops strategic supplier alliances with a select group of suppliers to assure a preferred status for Enerpac in negotiations

What you will bring:

Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of experience in procurement and category management strategies in a manufacturing environment. At least 5 years of experience leading a team.

Procurement knowledge: Deep understanding of procurement category management, stakeholder management and negotiations; have a desire to continually learn about evolving procurement opportunities

Experience in managing a multi-site manufacturing and multi-cultural international team and supply base in low-cost regions.

Superior negotiation skills with the experience in developing team members skills

Strong analytical and presentation skills: have a strong ability to analyze significant amounts of data and summarize findings or options for senior leadership

Experience with management, tracking, and reporting of key commodities, currency and market trends from a historical and forecasting perspective.

Financially literate, especially in P&L and cash-flow modeling, scenario building and comparatives analysis

Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to use a structured approach to understand, analyze and solve complex problems / issues

Ability to travel up to 25%
