Your Challenge
As a Director of Business Development, you will support across a number of business units of Defense Solutions. You are empowered to evaluate and manage new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures. You will also oversee market analysis, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs. You are also responsible for the planning, design, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives to expand our presence throughout the US Air Force aviation enterprise.
Your Expertise
- US person required
- Active SECRET security clearance is a must. TS clearance is preferred
- Prior US Air Force aviation experience and/or acquisition experience is highly desired with extensive USAF relationships and pedigree
- Prior BD experience is beneficial
- Ability to travel 30%-40% of the year
- Ability to set up demonstrations, present, and occasionally lift 50-70 lbs
- Have a working knowledge of DoD programs relating to Air Force airborne applications (e.g. Air Dominance, legacy platform modernization) including working from initial program concept through development and on through production.
- Gain access to senior program leads, senior officers, and influencers on Air Force aviation programs.
- Have a working network of contacts throughout the Air Force Aviation community (requirements development, acquisitions, test and evaluation, operations) as well as prime contractors dealing in airborne applications.
- Be comfortable in discussing airborne applications with operators, senior program team members, senior officers and corporate executives alike.
- Strong experience in the Air Force Aviation enterprise including customer relationships with requirements and acquisition officers (i.e. ACC Langley, Wright Patterson AFB, etc).
- Self-motivated and comfortable working in a goal-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills, able to effectively deal with multiple meetings, tasks, and deadlines
- Have strong communication skills, able to effectively communicate with customers and contacts of all backgrounds and educational levels. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to formulate capture plans and lead capture efforts of multimillion dollar pursuits
- Be practiced in researching, planning, and implementing new target market initiatives
- Pursuing leads and moving them through the business development life cycle, working across multiple disciplines (Strategy, BD, Marketing, Engineering Sales)
- Developing concepts, ideas, quotes and proposals for prospective clients
- Represent CWDS at conferences, industry events and working groups; for the purposes of identifying new opportunities for the CWDS division.
