Overview Director, Business Development, Cross Border role at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. The position is responsible for winning new accounts within the assigned branch(es) territory and maximizing sales growth from existing customers through development of new sales, product marketing, and customer support strategies to achieve volume growth targets. Base compensation range: $130,000.00 to $140,000.00. This is a full-time, mid-senior level role focused on cross-border road freight solutions within the Road & Rail product scope. Responsibilities Act as the single point of contact for Hellmann solutions and service sales in Cross Border Road Freight. Aggressively obtain new local customers through sales "hunting" activity, develop relationships, and assess prospective accounts to secure business. Build customer portfolio aligned with the needs and capabilities of the Road & Rail Product. Serve as product subject matter expert for teammates in the Hellmann sales community. Perform all aspects of the sales process and update relevant activities in CRM daily (required). Conduct quarterly business reviews with customers and maintain ongoing communication with customer and Hellmann Road Operations to ensure expectations are met. Report to management regularly on market development and customer trends and activities. Additional duties as assigned. Education And/Or Experience Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Minimum of 5 years sales experience in Cross Border Road Freight. Operations experience with cross-border services including general knowledge of customs processes. Experience with logistics processes, systems, and solutions. Knowledge of CRM systems is a plus; basic PC knowledge and Microsoft Office applications are required. Strong written and oral communication skills; customer relations experience; keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ambitious self-starter who can be flexible in the face of ambiguity; good problem solving and negotiation skills; ability to travel 50% or more and maintain a valid driver’s license. Knowledge, Skills & Attributes Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; resourceful and collaborative attitude; willingness to learn and adapt to changing environments. Proficient verbal and written communication and customer service acumen. Team player with problem-solving abilities and solution orientation. Strong time management and prioritization; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic Excel; familiarity with CRM systems. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required for effective communication with diverse teams and stakeholders. Physical Demands Frequently stand and walk; regularly sit for extended periods; use arms, hands, and fingers for computer and phone work. Clear speaking and listening due to heavy phone contact; requires close-up and computer screen vision.
