Job Summary
The Consumer Lending Director, Analytics/Risk is responsible for developing and managing risk/return strategies and overseeing risk management for consumer lending programs to meet member financial needs, enable sustainable growth, and optimize economic returns. This role ensures the financial soundness of the organization by actively managing product risk and providing insights for the development of financial products and services that improve members financial health.
Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies to assess, manage, and mitigate risks (credit, fraud, retention, etc.) for consumer lending products in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Manage customer segmentation and lifetime value analysis to enhance customer acquisition, usage, retention, and satisfaction. Design, develop, and present risk/return data, insights, and recommendations to senior management for strategic planning and decision-making. Identify organizational risks through continuous monitoring of key metrics and portfolio trends, ensuring appropriate risk metrics are in place. Leverage technology to streamline risk processes, drive automation, and improve member experience. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in retail risk management and implement relevant enhancements. Ensure regulatory compliance and manage product risk in accordance with applicable laws. Provide guidance and mentorship to analytics/risk associates, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. Develop action plans for credit risk management committees in response to market conditions and their impact on credit and fraud risk. Collaborate with marketing, finance, operations, and IT teams to align business outcomes and deliver defined results. Represent the organization in interactions with trade associations, community organizations, vendors, and regulatory agencies. Oversee budgetary activities for direct reporting departments. Establish and maintain control activities to mitigate risks consistent with the organization s risk appetite.
Requirements Ability to remain seated for prolonged periods with occasional mobility. Sufficient manual dexterity to operate a computer and standard office equipment. Normal vision and hearing, with accommodations provided if necessary. Willingness to travel for business as required. Flexibility to perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Skill Strategic thinker with a proven ability to develop and implement risk strategies in the financial services sector. Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data and customer insights for decision-making. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills to effectively influence cross-functional teams. Proficiency with analytics and data manipulation tools such as SAS, R, SQL, or Python. Effective project management skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and deliver timely results.
Summary Qualification Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline. Ten or more years of experience in analytics and risk management with a focus on retail lending, including origination and portfolio management.
