As an Azure Global Black Belt (GBB) Cloud & AI Apps Solution Area Specialist, you are a senior business leader with business and technical expertise within our enterprise sales organization, working with our most important customers. You will lead a virtual team of sales, technical, and services resources to help customers realize the AI & digital transformation through cloud computing. You will develop and maintain holistic expertise in accelerating AI transformation and scaling AI application and agent development through Azure AI Foundry , while also leveraging the full Microsoft Application Platform - including Azure App Services, Containers, AKS, Developer Tools, and GitHub - to support end-to-end solution delivery. You'll identify use cases and scenarios, build compelling business cases, and create or leverage repeatable IP to drive adoption at scale. You will build and maintain relationships with customers, influence long-term strategic direction, and act as a trusted advisor-driving engagement at the CXO level with both business and technology decision-makers, consumption project to production. Responsibilities
Advising C-Suite in Customers: Develop and maintain a robust relationship with business executives in top customers (e.g., CIO, CISO, CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Development), gaining their mindshare and trust in Azure platform.
Complex Deals Support: Work closely with the account team to ensure alignment and proactive discovery/hunting of new opportunities including large/complex deals.
Remove blockers and accelerate sales: Identify and resolve roadblocks that may hinder customer progress, bring values into deal strategy to assist sellers with deep expertise in top partner offerings globally, capacity and pricing/SKU/model, use case scenarios, process, business value articulation for assigned specialization area.
Win Over Competitors & Business Commitment: Expert in compete coaching against major Public Cloud Hyper Scalers competitors by defining winning competitive strategies (win back, surround), demonstrating superior solutions and securing business commitment.
Incubation to Mainstream: Spot repeatable patterns in sales motions (e.g., commercial constructs, customer scenarios) and scale them across the field.
Sales Strategy Feedback Loop: Work with Go-To-Market team to capture insights from customer engagements and field feedback to identify sales patterns, blockers, and opportunities. Share these insights internally to help shape better sales strategies that continuously meet customer needs and field realities.
Knowledge Transfer to Sales Roles: ?Work with enablement team as a scale mechanism to skill specialist, specialist managers, and sales leaders through deal coaching, structured knowledge sharing, and training.
Thought Leadership: ?Be a leading industry expert and drive awareness and adoption through speaking at events, publishing articles, and sharing best practices.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Information Security, or related field AND 6+ years experience in technology-related sales or account management
OR equivalent experience.
5+ years experience leading the sales of large AI engagements, especially those involving Gen AI and application modernization projects to large/global enterprise customers

Additional or preferred qualifications:
Master's Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, Information Security, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technology-related sales or account management
OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Information Security, or related field AND 12+ years experience in technology-related sales or account management
OR equivalent experience.
6+ years solution or services sales experience.
Pipeline management, identification and analysis of customer usage trends, large dollar licensing and deal negotiation experience, understanding of partner ecosystems and the ability to leverage partner solutions to solve customer needs.
Experience selling to senior business decision makers by aligning & reinforcing the business value and cost savings of the solution to the customer's overall business pain and/or strategic opportunities and decision criteria.
Orchestrate and influence virtual sales/technical/support/partner teams to pursue sales opportunities and lead v-teams through influence
Align security solutions to risk posture, compliance needs, and board-level concerns.
Understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud platform, or other public cloud platforms, including IaaS and PaaS technologies and how they translate into business impact. Versed in Cloud & AI Apps and Agents
Knowledge of enterprise software solutions and cloud and AI Apps and Agents competitor landscape including AWS and GCP
Understanding of partner ecosystems and the ability to leverage partner solutions to solve customer needs.
Solution Area Specialists IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,000 - $222,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $170,300 - $239,800 per year.
