Director, Agent Risk (Hybrid)

Globe Life is seeking a Director of Agent Risk to lead an insurance agent-facing risk management program. The program aims to assess the potential impacts of agent conduct and sales processes on the company's reputation, regulatory compliance, privacy, security, and operational resiliency.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of risk frameworks, program management, and communicating key risk indicators to sales leaders. This position collaborates with other risk and compliance functions, including Enterprise Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Information Security, Privacy, and Information Technology.
The role is a hybrid position located in McKinney, TX, with a schedule of working from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office from Tuesday to Thursday.
Role Overview The Director of Agent Risk will be responsible for leading the Agent Risk Management Program, fostering a proactive culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. The key responsibilities include:
Providing leadership and overseeing the Agent Risk Management Program
Developing programming centered around the Agent Risk Management's three main pillars: Agent Education, Agent Governance, and Agent Compliance
Being the primary voice of compliance and risk management to exclusive and non-exclusive agents
Implementing a system for identifying, assessing, and communicating risk around federal and state guidelines and regulations related to insurance agent sales operations
Providing summary risk ratings and periodic reporting to sales leaders concerning agent risks and trends in their portfolio of relationships
Participating in regular reviews with Agent leadership to evaluate identified trends of noncompliance with the Agent Code of Conduct and Agent Contract
Generating key metrics, reporting, and dashboards on a consistent basis for relevant stakeholders
Reporting on compliance trends to management
Making recommendations for enhancements to Agent Licensing, training, and oversight processes
Making recommendations for improvements to the Agent Code of Conduct and the Agent Contract
Partnering with the Investigations Department, Legal Department, and the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) to monitor the activities of the company's exclusive and non-exclusive agents
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with business owners, operational leaders, IT leaders, and second-line leaders in departments such as Enterprise Risk Management, Information Security, and Compliance
Advising company leadership on risk trends and compliance gaps that need to be mitigated to adequately manage reputational, sales, and compliance risk for agency operations
Keeping up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging trends in third-party management, risk resiliency, governance processes, and regulatory requirements
Maintaining a current knowledge of the latest developments related to the risk management industry
Developing and managing analyst staff, including providing routine and constructive feedback, completing performance evaluations, assisting with hiring, and the onboarding of new hires

Requirements The ideal candidate will have:
A BA/BS degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field; a Master's or higher degree is preferred
10+ years of experience in TPRM (Third-Party Risk Management), Risk Management, or Compliance; agent risk experience is a plus
5+ years of management/leadership experience
10+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry or a related field
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a focus on data-driven decision making and continuous improvement
Strong program management skills and the ability to hold others accountable for deliverables to ensure program plan timelines are met
Ability to operate as a self-motivated, proactive, and result-driven problem solver with excellent analytical and communication skills
Ability to understand IT business processes, management objectives, risk appetite, and tolerances, and the impact of changes to risk profiles
Experience working with IT governance and controls, including a governance framework
Solid technical skills in the use of Microsoft desktop tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
