The Creative Director leads Excelsior University's enrollment marketing brand strategy, visual identity and creative execution. This role oversees the design, multimedia, and other functions related to the visual realization of our marketing strategies and deliverables in order to develop compelling creative assets that drive student recruitment, retention and brand awareness. The Creative Director reports to the AVP for Enrollment Marketing and collaborates closely with the Enrollment Marketing team, including the Director of Digital Marketing, the Director of Marketing Strategy, the Marketing Operations Manager, and the Executive Director of Marketing Content and Web Strategy to ensure a high-impact, cohesive brand experience.Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain Excelsior's brand identity and creative direction.Ensure visual consistency across all enrollment marketing channels and materials.Lead creative concepting and execution for digital, print, social media, and video campaigns.Serve as brand steward, aligning creative assets with institutional goals and messaging.Manage and mentor a creative team of designers, videographers, and content creators.Collaborate with UI/UX and SEO specialists to enhance digital experiences.Align creative strategies with performance marketing and enrollment objectives.Oversee the production of assets including social graphics, emails, web visuals, and print.Develop multimedia storytelling, including video, to support brand engagement.Ensure all assets are optimized for mobile, digital, and print formats.Leverage data and testing insights to refine creative output.Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and stay informed on design trends.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The Creative Director will bring proven experience leading creative teams and managing multiple projects in fast-paced environments.7 years of progressive experience in design and creative leadership roles, with demonstrated success leading high-performing teams and managing multi-channel campaigns.The ideal candidate is a visionary creative leader with a strong background in graphic design, multimedia storytelling, and brand strategy-able to blend artistic excellence with data-informed decision-making.A strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across print, digital, video, and branding is essential. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite-especially Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Premiere Pro-is required. The successful candidate will offer strong conceptual thinking, a strategic mindset, and sharp attention to detail, and will inspire a team to consistently produce high-quality, impactful work on deadline.Preferred Qualifications: •10+ years of experience in creative direction, with a portfolio that demonstrates impact across digital, print, video, and brand strategy-ideally in higher education or a mission-driven environment.•Familiarity with web design, motion graphics, and front-end development.•Experience with marketing analytics tools to measure creative effectiveness.•Certifications in branding, UX/UI, or digital marketing.The hiring salary range for this position is $95,000.00 - $110,000.00. The hiring salary range above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting.
