Overview We have an exciting opportunity for a Hyper-Scale Project Director of Data Center Construction who will lead and manage large-scale and complex data center construction projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, extensive project management experience, and the ability to secure new business within the mission critical sector. The Project Director is responsible for assembling project delivery teams with the requisite qualifications and experience, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure successful initiation, planning, construction, and closure of projects. Location Remote in the US, with a willingness to travel extensively to client sites. Responsibilities Project Planning and Strategy: Developing comprehensive construction plans, defining scope, goals, and deliverables in alignment with organizational objectives. Team Leadership: Leading cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders. Resource Management: Allocating resources efficiently, managing budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope. Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies. Stakeholder Engagement: Communicating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment. Performance Monitoring: Tracking project progress, adjusting plans as necessary. Quality Assurance: Ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards and compliance regulations. Innovation and Improvement: Continuously seeking process improvements and innovative solutions. Qualifications Must have: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Project Management, Business Administration, or related field, plus 15+ years of relevant experience including 5+ years in leadership. Proven project management experience in construction, especially in data centers ($100-300M budgets). Leadership skills in assembling and leading project teams. Valid US driver’s license and passport; willingness to travel (~70%). Ideally, candidates will also have: Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong leadership, motivation, and mentoring abilities. Deep knowledge of construction processes, laws, and standards. Experience maintaining safety standards and delivering quality outcomes. Experience developing project strategies, plans, schedules, and budgets. Technologies & Methodologies Building Information Modeling (BIM). Project Management Software (MS Office, Procore, CMiC, P6). Cloud-based project management tools. Sustainable construction practices. Success Attributes Technical expertise in construction and engineering. Budget management and financial forecasting skills.
