Portfolio Resident Services is a fast-paced organization providing a premier program of Resident Services within the national affordable housing industry.  We are seeking a n assertive and innovative experienced individual to lead  our Dallas team as Community Services Director. The ideal candidate is an organized and detailed professional; a problem solver with excellent communication skills who brings a proven track record of successful leadership of a diverse and hybrid (or remote) team.
POSITION SUMMARY A Community Services Director (CSD) is responsible for the innovative development and creative delivery of the Good Neighbor Program within their assigned portfolio through the management and development of a team of Service Coordinators.  They ensure effective delivery of the contractual obligations for each of their assigned communities and maintain excellent client relationships. PRS is looking for a hands-on, action-oriented, tenacious, innovative leader, that can work independently and handle multiple projects with a high follow through and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is a problem solver; assertive and persistent project starter that enjoys variety in a fast paced environment while providing high quality results. Essential Functions: Complete administrative forms directly related to the oversight of region including but not limited to, PAFs, Performance Improvement Plans, Annual Performance Reviews, Disciplinary Action, and Termination/Resignation forms Analyze monthly Director Reports and Quarterly Audit Reports to identify weaknesses and strengths Conduct and oversee the staff development, when needed, with Regional Coordinators, Coordinator Mentors, and Resident Services Coordinators Oversee the review of all PIPs related to Regional Coordinators, Coordinator Mentors, and Resident Services Coordinators. Work directly with HR to determine just and valid terminations or layoffs Oversee delivery of terminations, if needed, for Regionals, Coordinator Mentors, and Resident Services Coordinators. Host weekly calls with Regionals and Coordinator Mentors Oversee and attend regional meetings Resolve service problems by clarifying the client’s complaint by determining the cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution to resolve the problem, expediting correction or adjustment, following up to ensure resolution Complete Project-based work that allows for the latitude to plan and prioritize your work with autonomy Build relationship with all levels of the organization A strong commitment to perpetuate our organization’s mission and ultimately contribute to societal enrichment Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience Proficient in Microsoft office, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Smartsheet, Zoom. Ability to oversee a team of 40+ hybrid (or remote) team Possess a strong knowledge of and connection to relevant industries, such as Affordable Housing Development, Real Estate, Property Management, Marketing, and Non-Profit and Community Initiatives Demonstrated leadership in new business development Ability to maintain client relations Superior organizational ability: time efficacy, effective planning, ability to meet various benchmarks and deadlines as presented Effective writing skills to prepare clear and concise executive correspondence, proposals, policy development, and other materials Effective oral communication skills to present Good Neighbor Program policy and offerings to a variety of audiences and to brief management on significant partnerships, activities, accomplishments, and issues Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations Significant ability to delegate tasks and supervise the work of others, including Regional Coordinators, Coordinator Mentors and Resident Services Coordinators Exposure to general Human Resources practices, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees as well as providing adequate supervision and corrective actions when necessary Strong critical thinking skills: making accurate linkages between cause and effect, generating relevant solutions to problems, and arriving at innovative resolutions Proven ability to positively influence and motivate others despite challenging situations and work environments Education: Bachelors and/or Advanced Degree preferably in Behavioral Science, Education, Organizational Development or a related field of study from an accredited college or university OR equivalent Direct Housing Industry experience is not a mandatory requirement.
