CCC in Indianapolis is seeking a visionary, collaborative Co-Director of Music to help shape the next chapter of our vibrant and growing music ministry. If you are passionate about choral music, young voices, Anglican liturgy, and multicultural community, we invite you to discern with us.
This is not a traditional music director role. It is an opportunity to join a bold experiment in shared leadership, creative partnership, and musical excellence grounded in faith. You will help shape a music ministry that reflects the breadth and beauty of our city, our diocese, and the Kingdom of God.
As a multicultural community, we offer liturgies in both English and Spanish, using a wide diversity of music that nurtures our diocese, congregation, and city. The Co-Director of Music (Chancel Choir) and Co-Director of Music (Coro Latinoamericano) are equal partners, working collaboratively with staff to lead, manage, and coordinate the music ministry in alignment with our vision and mission.
Responsibilities include:
Direct and develop the Chancel Choir, including professional singers, choristers from our Choir School, instrumentalists, and the Organ Scholar
Plan and lead music for all English-language liturgies
Support Choir School development and chorister integration into worship
Deepen musical repertoire with diverse sacred traditions
Plan and lead Chancel Choir tour opportunities and related fundraising
Participate in liturgical planning, staff meetings, and diocesan collaborations
Maintain regular office hours
Qualifications include:
Advanced degree in Organ Performance, Choral Conducting, Sacred Music, or related field; 5 years of experience leading choral programs; familiarity with Episcopal Church and liturgy
Experience with youth and children’s choirs and intergenerational music-making
Strong conducting and keyboard skills; organ proficiency desired
Experience supervising staff or volunteers
Ability to speak, write, read Spanish strongly preferred
