Position Summary:
Powder Mountain offers a vibrant private membership program for residents, including Skylodge, a 5,500 square foot community center with dramatic views at 8,900 feet elevation, and Landing, a lakeside property in Huntsville. The Membership team is seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Director with extensive hospitality experience to provide exceptional experiences and lead a high-performing service team from a venue management perspective. In this role, the Director will be responsible for overseeing daily food and beverage operations, facilitating guest chef residencies, contributing to venue development projects, and upholding the highest standards of hospitality. As the Director, you will need to have a deep knowledge of guest relations, menu expertise, and effective leadership, collaboration and organizational skills.
Job Performance Expectations:
Hospitality:
Embody hospitality, seeking out ways to create memorable and tailored experiences for all guests with an ability to read and guide guests with graciousness and foresight
Foster a welcoming, yet refined atmosphere that reflects the principles of the larger membership program
Develop and nurture community relationships in close collaboration with the Community team
Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of on-site programming, amenities, and menus (including ingredients, origins, suppliers, seasonality, flavor and texture, allergy restrictions, and preparation methods)
Actively participate in service and engage with guests to gather and act upon feedback regarding the overall experience, product quality, and service levels
Leadership and Collaboration:
Lead and guide the team through all aspects of the service cycle, ensuring seamlessness, preparedness, and presentation
Ensure that all members of the team are performing at the necessary level through education, clarity in communications, set expectations, and accountability
Oversee daily operations of the private lodge, including marketing strategies, recruitment, hiring, team development, and coordination
Venue Management and Operations:
Responsible for managing all Skylodge and Landing operations, POS systems, budgets, reservation system and reporting
Work closely with Community team and Culinary Team to maintain and update regular and special event information
Uphold all standards of the restaurant, service, appearance, and conduct
Implement innovative strategies to enhance productivity and cost efficiency
Manage and project venue equipment and supplies needs
Ensure compliance with health codes, sanitation requirements, and safety protocols
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Forbes Service Standards experience preferred
Great attitude, positive mindset, and able to adapt to an ever-changing work environment.
6 + years’ experience in the food and beverage industry with senior management experience.
Must have the ability to work varied hours and be on call as often as possible.
Must have a High School Diploma.
Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and Google Drive) with ability to learn new programs.
Superior verbal and written communication skills as well as proofreading and editing.
Outgoing personality type, team-oriented, friendly, and kind.
Must be able to handle confidential matters with absolute discretion.
Proactive solutions-based approach which includes strong decision making and judgment.
Excellent presentation skills, attention to detail, and clear communicator.

Physical Requirements - Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:
Full range of body movements

Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain
Working Environment:
The work environment is primarily indoors, at high elevation. Occasional exposure to inclement weather.
