Job Title: Clinical Research Program Director (Institute for Pediatric Rare Diseases - Medicine) Location: Tallahassee, FL Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 60796 Department College of Medicine, Institute for Pediatric Rare Diseases Responsibilities Responsible for the overall design, organization, and management of a multi-institutional genetic research program, headquartered at the Florida Institute for Pediatric Rare Diseases (IPRD) at Florida State University. Coordinates work across academic medical centers, community hospitals, and public health partners within the state of Florida. Oversees all aspects of study design, protocol development, and operational planning of the Sunshine Genetics pilot program in compliance with ethical and regulatory standards. Directs and facilitates program work at participating institutions across Florida to ensure consistent execution of research protocols and timelines. Collaborates closely with the Florida IPRD Clinical Genomics Laboratory performing the Whole Genome Sequencing analyses. Represents the Institute and serves as a liaison to collaborating entities, including the Florida Department of Health, academic medical centers, newborn screening programs, and other stakeholders. Directs and supports a multi-disciplinary research team, including clinical investigators, project managers, genetic counselors, bioinformaticians, and research coordinators. Maintains current knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding human subjects protections and the ethical conduct of research, data privacy, and other regulatory compliance at all stages of the study. Monitors, analyzes, interprets and directs the dissemination of information about related developments and implications to institute faculty and staff. Prepares and manages a central, umbrella Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocol housed at the Florida IPRD, ensuring compliance across participating sites. Monitors and reports to institute director on budget performance, resource allocation, and project deliverables. Contributes to research publications, progress reports, and grant submissions associated with the project. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and six years of experience in a related science or research services field; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to ten years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
