The Clinical Director of Nursing will report to the Chief Nursing Officer and provide leadership for the MICU, Cardiac/Telemetry, and Respiratory Care units. While not directly responsible for perioperative services, the Director will retain operational accountability in this area, ensuring processes are standardized and aligned across the system. In this capacity, the Director will oversee the development and implementation of policies, protocols, and order sets; co-develop goals, scorecards, and action plans with leaders and medical staff; ensure regulatory readiness and compliance; and partner with IT to build and sustain best-practice workflows. They will also coordinate evidence-based interventions and system-wide purchasing to support efficiency and effectiveness.
At the site level, the Clinical Director of Nursing will lead initiatives to improve performance, efficiency, quality, and flow. They will mentor frontline leaders, oversee the full talent lifecycle, and manage performance evaluations in alignment with departmental goals and expectations. Additional responsibilities include meeting operating cost targets, preparing capital requests, maintaining current policies and procedures while ensuring staff awareness and adherence, and cultivating strong relationships across executives, leaders, and physicians. The Director of Nursing will also establish aligned annual goals for themselves and their team. Candidates best positioned for this role will hold a Master’s degree and bring leadership experience in the acute care setting.
