The CDC Director plans, manages, and oversees all operations to ensure high-quality, regulatory-compliant care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Responsibilities include staff supervision, policy development, budget oversight, safety compliance, training, and program evaluation. The Director promotes child growth, staff development, and family involvement while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and effective environment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience includes paid and unpaid experience, volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps), and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be credited. Your resume must clearly describe relevant experience; if education qualifies you, transcripts will be required as part of your application. QUALIFICATIONS: A 4-year degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, Home Economics (early childhood emphasis), or related field AND 3 years of full-time experience working with children and/or youth. A Master's degree in the related field AND at least 1-year professional experience working with children. Knowledge of principles of child development and experience in designing and managing complex programs including safety, security, disease prevention, employee training, developmentally appropriate activities, parent involvement, and facility management. Knowledge of and skill in applying Federal and State laws governing child abuse and neglect detection and prevention. Knowledge of facility design, use, and maintenance; DoD, local, and state child regulations and procedures, including military childcare regulations. Knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and purchasing related to child development programs. Preferred qualifications include experience working with military families and understanding military lifestyles. Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written, and strong interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to respond to emergency situations, including evacuations, child illness, and emotional or physical disorders. Supervisory skills, sound business acumen, and positive personnel management are required. Conditions of Employment: Satisfactory completion and favorable adjudication of installation records checks, state and national criminal background checks, and a Tier 1 background investigation are required for positions involving lessons or instruction to children.
