We're looking for a Center Director who values flexibility, honest communication, collaborative problem-solving, and a passion for personal and professional growth. As the face of our learning center, you'll lead daily operations, drive enrollment, and ensure families and staff experience Sylvan's commitment to quality education. We're looking for a Center Director to join our team around August 1 , 2025.
What You'll Do
•Lead and manage daily center operations, ensuring a consistent, high-quality customer experience.
•Build strong relationships with families, guiding them through the full Sylvan journey-from first contact through continued enrollment.
•Meet performance and budget goals while identifying areas for improvement and implementing smart solutions.
•Hire, coach, and support a flexible, motivated team that's aligned with our values.
•Communicate clearly and regularly with staff and franchise leadership to ensure alignment.
•Promote Sylvan in the community by building school partnerships and supporting local outreach efforts.
•Ensure the center remains a safe, professional, and welcoming learning environment.
What You Bring
•Bachelor's degree required; experience in education or customer service is a plus.
•Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
•Comfortable using technology and social media to connect with customers and track performance.
•A proactive, solution-focused mindset-able to prioritize, adapt, and pivot when needed.
•Experience leading a team and fostering a positive, growth-focused workplace.
•Ability to work a flexible schedule, including two nights until 5:30pm, two nights until close (currently 7:30pm) and every other Saturday 9am-1pm.
*This role will be 60% in Rockford/40% in Grand Rapids.
