Job Location 00005 Plymouth Corporate - Plymouth, MI Description
Responsible for the daily operations of our Carrier Relations Team as they obtain and support our third party carriers as well as our United Road Team Members.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure proper staffing to confirm quality work in all areas of Carrier Relations
• Direct the duties of the staff and supervision of the Carrier Relations team
• Select and hire employees; train and evaluate employees to enhance their performance, development and work product
• Ensure the efficient creation and implementation of processes to ensure high quality, reliable results
• Gather and disseminate information to corporate leadership as it relates to staffing, inventory, budget, revenue and operational risks
• Analyze and provide to corporate leadership carrier performance reports including revenues, margins, business unit and individual performance and metrics, etc.
• Facilitate the creation of a Carrier Recognition program
• Implement and leverage technology to improve efficiency and profitability
• Take leadership role in various company projects and in early testing and implementation of new procedures and practices
• Be a champion in the proliferation of URS technologies, internally and externally
• Other duties and objectives as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• College Degree with at least seven (7) years of management experience in the transportation industry preferred; or, 5 or more years of finished vehicle transportation leadership experience
• Strong skill base and comfort with technology including Microsoft Office and routing or dispatching systems
• Advanced knowledge of office management systems and procedures, with highly proficient computer skills Skills Required
