Role Overview The Director of Channel Engagement and Activation serves as a senior media strategist, investment lead, and people manager, responsible for driving cross-platform media buying excellence, developing audience-first strategies, and inspiring high-performance teams. With deep expertise in Linear TV and Connected TV (CTV), this leader ensures delivery of innovative media solutions that meet Client objectives while mentoring Channel Strategists and Buyers. They lead with curiosity and conviction, confidently navigating negotiations, managing vendor relationships, and transforming insights into measurable outcomes. They embrace emerging technologies and evolving media ecosystems with enthusiasm and strategic rigor. Develop and execute media buying strategies across Linear TV, CTV, and emerging platforms. Align investment decisions with audience targeting, campaign goals, and brand ambition. Oversee media negotiations to secure optimal placements and pricing across networks, streaming platforms, and programmatic exchanges. Monitor and optimize media performance based on GRPs, TRPs, CPMs, ROI, and frequency metrics. Stay ahead of industry trends—media inflation, audience fragmentation, and new technologies—to enhance Client outcomes. Client Partnership & Strategic Insight Build and maintain strong Client relationships as a trusted strategic advisor. Lead internal and external communications to ensure media recommendations and POVs are aligned with Client priorities. Identify media opportunities that increase impact, visibility, and efficiency. Translate business challenges into actionable media solutions backed by data and storytelling. Manage, coach, and develop Channel Strategists and Buyers, fostering growth and accountability across levels. Set high standards for creative media thinking, strategic planning, and campaign execution. Create clarity around deliverables and performance expectations while building cross-functional timelines. Encourage innovation, mentoring junior talent to challenge convention and explore bold ideas. Operational Excellence & Agency Contribution Maintain fiscal accountability across campaigns, budgets, and media spend. Assess and improve media systems and internal processes for efficiency. Represent the agency positively in media sales communities and new business pitches. Collaborate with measurement partners to ensure cross-platform consistency and campaign success. Qualifications 8+ years in media strategy and buying, including extensive experience with Linear TV and CTV. 5+ years leading and developing media teams with measurable success. Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, communications, or equivalent experience. Proficiency with platforms such as programmatic exchanges. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
