POSITION SUMMARY
Leverages strong music industry knowledge and expertise to educate affiliates and protect and grow the organization's standing in the marketplace. Directs compliance and operational efforts related to cue sheet acquisition and royalty distribution. Serves as a highly knowledgeable resource on copyright and royalty related issues in support of the organization's overall mission.
LOCATION
Los Angeles, CA office. BMI operates on a regular in-office hybrid schedule. At present, most team members are expected in the office three (3) days a week.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions : which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position
Fosters, develops, and maintains business relationships with a wide array of stakeholders, and key music industry influencers, to grow BMI's presence as the leading PRO.
Acquires a complete understanding of BMI's distribution and administration operations to appropriately respond to a wide variety of publisher, composer and songwriter inquiries.
Directs publisher and client relationship management efforts,resolves high-impact issues and sets standards for excellence in service.
Delivers an exceptional customer experience by projecting an enthusiastic, service-oriented approach to optimizing the BMI affiliate experience.
Assists and supervises cue sheet processes, acquisitions, and compliance.
Oversees the collection and compliance of network, theatrical, streaming and syndicated cue sheets, promo logs and schedules to ensure accuracy in royalty distributions.
Monitors and assesses current marketplace trends to provide insights and recommendations to BMI leadership.
Provides demonstrations, education, and best-practices guidance for BMI's partner-facing applications (e.g. OLS, RapidCue and BMI ROCS), in addition to participating in working groups focused on upgrades and system improvements.
Documents any relevant details into the Salesforce CRM system with every contact.
Identifies opportunities to increase awareness of BMI services and programs.
Maintains knowledge of industry supply chains. Utilizes all available tools and resources to prevent supply chain issues related to work registrations and cue sheet deliveries that would lead to undesired distribution results.
Contributes to the development, organization, and execution of special projects such as BMI's award shows, showcases, panel discussions, and other company-hosted events.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in related fields such as music, music business or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in music publishing, research and/or related responsibilities. Minimum 7 years of building and sustaining strong relationships with music and/or business partners, industry experts, related organizations and leaders.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Expert knowledge of the music industry ecosystem, including performance rights, licensing, publishing, and digital distribution.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with enterprise-level CRM platforms (Salesforce strongly preferred).
Analytical and financial acumen to interpret industry trends, assess business impact, and inform decision-making.
Deep knowledge of copyright law, royalty distribution, and cue sheet processing.
Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, for resolving issues, influencing decisions and/or collaborating across multiple interests.
Strong relationship building skills for fostering and developing optimized relationships for business purposes.
Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present ideas in an easy to understand and engaging manner.
Unquestionable integrity, sound judgment, and a high level of discretion in handling confidential matters.
Supervisory skills.
SALARY RANGE
$100,000.00 - $120,000.00 (USD). The specific base salary offered to a successful applicant will be based on individual qualifications, skills, experience, and education. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. The position may also be eligible for one or more performance-based bonuses.
