Responsibilities
About the Role:
The AVP IT Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) provides leadership to the global business operations team and strategic guidance to the IT team and executive stakeholders. The team develops and manages control frameworks, testing, risk management methodologies, and governance practices, including policies, training, and communication with executives. The AVP will partner with IT GRC leadership to foster a risk-informed innovation culture, ensuring a compliant and resilient technology environment. The role involves leading a team of control-savvy technologists and interacting with management, external auditors, and regulators.
In This Role, You Will
Align department priorities with the organization’s vision and goals
Review and approve compliance, controls, risk, and governance frameworks
Ensure team adherence to regulatory requirements and established standards
Identify and escalate cross-functional issues and trends impacting risk and compliance
Develop strategies to address emerging risks and engage leadership proactively
Manage training programs to bridge knowledge gaps
Assess and improve the health of the internal practice portfolio
Influence senior technology leaders through strategic communication
Perform additional duties as assigned
Adhere to company policies and procedures
Qualifications
What makes you a dream candidate?
Deep understanding of business processes and security practices
Knowledge of IT governance, security frameworks (ISO, NIST, FFIEC, COBIT)
Experience with financial services policies and procedures
Strong leadership skills including delegation, coaching, and performance management
Ability to understand and apply emerging technologies to risk scenarios
Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s preferred
5-7 years in IT compliance or risk management
5-7 years in leadership roles
Certifications like CISA, CIA are preferred
