Position Overview Apollo’s Asset-Backed Finance (ABF) team is a dynamic and fast-growing division focused on originating and managing credit investments backed by a diverse range of assets. The ABF team supports Apollo’s broader credit strategy, offering innovative, structured financing solutions across sectors such as real estate, transportation, consumer finance, and specialty lending. The Role The Business Strategy team develops and executes growth initiatives across Apollo’s investing businesses. This role is part of the ABF Business Strategy team, reporting to the Partner and COO of Apollo ABF. The Associate will support ABF leaders in managing and scaling the business, including financial planning, fundraising, product structuring & development, operations, and cross-platform initiatives. The ideal candidate will take initiative, be comfortable in leadership and team roles, build internal relationships, and drive business processes. The Associate will work with senior leadership and benefit from the resources of the integrated Apollo platform, with opportunities for growth in a small, entrepreneurial team managing a large and growing portfolio. Immediate or near-term start date strongly preferred. Primary Responsibilities Support senior ABF team members in evaluating and implementing new business activities for Apollo, including new funds/product development, business line extensions, platforms, and partnerships Build and maintain financial models (including a three-statement corporate model) Define investment strategy, fundraising, and investor outreach plans Prepare internal analyses and presentation materials Interact with key internal and external partners and stakeholders Perform strategic analyses for senior management with emphasis on growth: competitive intelligence, new asset classes, expansion of origination capabilities, coverage models, and organizational structure Support senior investment professionals on portfolio and business management activities Identify and implement data/process enhancements for day-to-day investment and portfolio management Coordinate across Apollo on projects, acting as a liaison between investment teams and functions (client and product marketing, finance, human capital, legal, tax, compliance, and investment technology) Facilitate ad hoc requests and special projects for senior management Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate institution with strong academics Four to ten years of relevant work experience, preferably in financial services (e.g., investment banking or asset management) with strong financial modelling knowledge Other professional backgrounds will also be considered Genuine interest in corporate strategy and business building within the investment management industry, with hands-on growth plan implementation Strong corporate finance knowledge with experience building and managing corporate financial models Extensive quantitative, analytical, and modelling skills with advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities Strong interpersonal skills for effective written and verbal communication with external counterparties Proactive, ownership-minded attitude; able to work in a fast-paced, rigorous environment Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously About Apollo Apollo is a high-growth, global alternative asset manager. Pay Range $175,000 or $200,000 (Associate); $250,000 (Director) DOE Pay ranges and opportunities reflect job function, level, and location, and final offers depend on candidate experience and expertise.
