What You'll Be Doing: Evolent is seeking an Associate Medical Director - Cardiovascular Medicine to play a critical role in Performance Suite risk arrangements with payers and strategic utilization management initiatives. This is an opportunity for a Cardiologist to shape high-value patient care through development of evidence-based strategies, enhancing peer-to-peer discussions, and strategic collaboration-all while enjoying a better work-life balance in a non-clinical setting. What You'll Do: Provide clinical expertise in developing cardiovascular programs that include improvements to clinical effectiveness of utilization management (UM) and risk-based models.

Process improvement and enhancement of provider engagement to help ensure high value care delivery.

Offer clinical rationale for standard and expedited appeals, ensuring compliance with UM policies and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical reviewers, product, management, and senior leadership, to improve decision-making and care outcomes.

Assist in research, policy interpretation, and guideline development to refine the delivery of cardiology care models.

Coordinate and grow our semi-annual external Scientific Advisory Board summits.

Qualifications - Required & Preferred: MD/DO/MBBS Degree with active ABIM Board Certification in Cardiology (with Cardiology training and clinical experience).

Unrestricted medical license in the state of residence and willingness to obtain additional state licensure as needed.

Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in cardiology (preferred).

Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.

Passion for value-based care and improving healthcare quality.

Computer proficiency and ability to navigate electronic medical review platforms.

No current exclusions, sanctions, or disciplinary actions by state or federal healthcare programs (Medicare, Medicaid, OIG, or GSA).

The expected base salary/wage range for this position is $275,000-290,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus component that would be dependent on pre-defined performance factors.
