Associate Executive Director

Serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and provides strategic leadership in membership and marketing to advance the YMCA’s mission. Is the lead position dedicated to ensuring exceptional member experience, creating an atmosphere of outstanding member engagement for health, as well as volunteerism and philanthropy among our members. Assists the CEO in positioning the Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA as a “nonprofit of choice” for the investment of donations within the community through exceptional member engagement, strategic marketing, and stand-out member service efforts. Qualifications · Bachelor's degree or a related field equivalent.
· YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
· Three or more years of experience with supervision of teams, budget management, and project management.
· CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.
· Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.
· Ability to perform duties using latest technology, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, social media, online database software.
· Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations. Essential Functions 1. Designs and implements workflow and communication strategies that create a seamless organization-wide approach to how we engage our members in healthy living, youth programming, volunteer engagement, and philanthropy.
2. Works with Executive Leadership Team to define and articulate membership engagement and experience goals that position our Y as a leading driver of health and community-building and meet or exceed financial goals.
3. Works with the member experience team to ensure alignment of member experience goals, processes, and staff behaviors.
4. Provides, along with the CEO, mentoring to our Y’s Fund Development Coordinator to set and reach achievable goals for our Y’s annual, capital, grant, and endowment efforts.
5. Works with Fund Development Coordinator and Membership Experience Team to maximize giving potential among our most loyal supporters: our members.
6. Along with Executive Leadership Team, develops and implements a communications plan that supports the goals of our Y.
7. Works with Member Engagement Lead to ensure quality, engaging, timely communications with our active member base.
8. Develops annual operating budgets, objectives, and plan for our membership, and marketing.
9. Monitors the budget, implementation, and outcomes of the plans, taking appropriate action to ensure continued improvements.
10. Represents the association as required.

Directly supervises multiple teams; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, mission, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Fiscal Management
· Manages the budgeting process in departments of direct responsibility so that resources are devoted to top priorities and strategic objectives.
· Uses data to analyze financial trends and forecast future financial progress for the organization.
· Acts responsibly with the Y’s resources, following all budgeting policies and procedures and reporting irregularities immediately.
· Prepares budgets and interprets balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and forecasts.
· Analyzes financial data in order to make comparisons, draw conclusions, and make decisions.
· Identifies and mitigates significant business, financial, and operating risks and financial irregularities, and communicates information to management. Required Certifications · Bachelor's degree or a related field equivalent.
