JOB OVERVIEW:
The Associate Director of Recreational Sports’ primary objective is the effective management and leadership of the four story, 100,000 square foot student recreation center, which includes basketball courts with elevated track, multi-sport court, pool, fitness studios, and cardio and weight equipment. The Associate Director oversees all aspects of member and guest relations facility software management, payment processing, member marketing and communications, facility access and space management, and facility reservations and user agreements. This position is part of the Division of Student Affairs and prioritizes the learning and development of our students. The Associate Director acts in a departmental leadership role and reports directly to the Director of Recreational Sports.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manage recruitment, hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of all 60-70 student staff including member service representatives, facility managers, head guards, lifeguards and any interns.
· Serve as departmental designee for Risk Management including the development of departmental risk management standards.
· Manage membership database including membership revenue, marketing and communication.
· Manage departmental budget transactions, revenue and deposits using University systems such as Xavier Buy, Banner and Cash Net.
· Manage the day-to day operations of the pool.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Master’s degree plus at least 3 years of related experience.
· Experience with supervision.
· CPR/AED/First-Aid certification required within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
· CPR/AED/First-Aid instructor certified required within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
· Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
