Serve as the head of the VHS Transportation and Parking Services (TPS) operation, providing strategic and operational leadership across all areas of parking management, customer service, facility maintenance, and financial oversight. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient, customer-focused services while driving continuous improvement, business process optimization, and collaboration with campus and external partners.
Type of Recruitment Knowledge, skills and abilities Considerable knowledge of parking and transportation operations, including permit management, facility upkeep, and special event coordination. Strong understanding of parking technology systems and best practices for operational efficiency. Proven ability to manage, train, and develop supervisory and staff teams for effective operations. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to manage resources (fiscal, human, technology) to meet organizational goals. Ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational demands. Expertise in customer service and conflict resolution with a diverse population. Strong time management, project planning, and organizational skills. Proficient in analyzing and reporting data using parking and business management tools. Special licenses, registration or certification none Education or training none Level and type of experience Some supervisory experience in parking, transportation, or mobility operations. Management experience in a service-oriented industry, overseeing both full-time and part-time employees. Some experience managing staff using performance metrics and operational standards. Some experience in training and developing both full-time and part-time staff, with a focus on safety and accountability. Some experience analyzing data to establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to parking operations and enforcement.
Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification) Considerable related experience working in higher education or with parking operations, passenger transportation operations, and/or maintenance and repair of parking garage structures and facilities. Demonstrated experience managing a diverse work force. Demonstrated leadership abilities.
