Associate Director of Programs

Position Summary The Associate Director of Programs is a key leadership role responsible for supporting and enhancing the delivery, oversight, and quality of program services at A Safe Haven’s main facility. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Programs, this individual will ensure that services operate efficiently, meet funder requirements, and maintain audit readiness at all times. This position requires strategic thinking, staff supervision, cross-functional coordination, and direct engagement with internal teams, external partners, and funders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise program managers to ensure effective, trauma-informed, and compliant service delivery.
Maintain oversight of staff schedules, ensuring proper shift coverage and adjusting for call-offs or vacancies.
Monitor daily operations to ensure programs are audit-ready at all times.
Promptly communicate facility issues that impact client safety or wellbeing to the maintenance team and ensure timely resolution.
Review and sign case manager progress notes to ensure documentation is complete and accurate for reimbursement submission.
Collaborate with the VP of Programs to develop and implement program goals, policies, and performance improvement plans.
Respond to inquiries from funders, addressing concerns related to program delivery, resident complaints, or incident investigations.
Oversee accurate data collection and reporting to meet compliance and grant requirements.
Assist with program budgeting and ensure appropriate allocation of resources.
Interface with other departments and community stakeholders to strengthen program partnerships and visibility.
Provide training, coaching, and support to ensure the professional development of direct reports.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work or counseling or a related field is required.
Active LCSW or LCPC license required.
Minimum 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in social services or a related field.
Demonstrated experience supervising and mentoring staff.
Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to track expenses, analyze financial data, and build cost proposals.
Knowledge of compliance standards, government contracts, and performance-based funding.
Ability to interface professionally with city agencies, funders, and other external partners.
