Huntington University has an opening for an Associate Director of Library Service/Electronic Serivices Librarian. This position administers portions of the library programs and policies with specific responsibilities for electronic resource management: including the Integrated Library System (OCLC WMS); Ebsco Discovery Service; library website (LibGuides) including approximately 120 databases; and ebook maintenance. This individual will exercise oversight for fulfillment services (interlibrary loan/ILL), collection development, and government documents. This position also performs analytics and prepares reports; hires, trains and supervises staff and student workers within areas of responsibility; serves on Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI) and Academic Libraries of Indiana (ALI) committees and boards as assigned or elected; and serves as the Library Director in the absence of the Director.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a strong personal Christian commitment and faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to serve others Must be committed to the mission of Huntington University as a comprehensive Christian College dedicated to educating students to impact our world for Christ Demonstrated understanding of Christian higher education, preferred Master of Library Science or Master of Information Science degree from an ALA accredited library school with major emphasis in academic libraries and electronic resources. Skill in the application of computer technology as it applies to Integrated Library Services (e.g. OCLC WMS currently and future Koha); Ebsco Discovery Service; institutional repository (Hyku) databases; e-journals; e-books; OERs; AI, etc.). Proficiency and/or expertise in website management using LibGuides. Ability to effectively train the library staff in the use of the library’s systems. Ability to effectively teach the use of the library including instructional technology support to graduate and online students and programs. Tutorial and video creation skills. Ability to communicate effectively. Positive interpersonal skills and a team player Demonstrated administrative and supervisory skills Commitment to continuous process improvement
