Summary
POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Director of Foundation Relations and Grants is
an important member of the fundraising team, responsible for overseeing all
activities associated with securing funding from corporate and private
foundations, as well as government contracts and the United Way. The Director
will manage a portfolio of funders, one on-staff grant writer, and contractors
as needed, and partner with program directors and staff to ensure funding needs
for programs are met. Additionally, the Director will play an important role in
Hope in Action, the Campaign for Neighborhood House, which is launching its
public phase in October 2025. The Associate Director of Foundation Relations
and Grants will contribute to the success of Neighborhood House’s fundraising
efforts by driving the strategy for corporate and foundation support.
Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the full lifecycle of grant development, submission,
and reporting processes to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with funder
guidelines.
Collaborate cross-functionally to identify organizational
needs and craft compelling proposal narratives that advance fundraising and
campaign goals.
Partner with the Vice President of Advancement, President
and CEO, the campaign team, and the finance team to identify and cultivate
potential corporate and foundation funders; drive engagement strategies and
contribute to campaign-aligned proposal writing.
Build and maintain strong relationships with foundation and
corporate program officers; expand the funder base through research,
networking, and targeted outreach.
Coordinate and support key fundraising activities such as
site visits, budget preparation, and campaign planning.
Maintain accurate records of grants and proposals in Excel
and Raiser’s Edge; ensure grant documentation aligns with internal procedures
and data privacy standards.
Lead and manage the grants team, including an on-staff and
contract grant writer.

of Neighborhood House.
Actively support Neighborhood House’s commitment to

Maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with
colleagues, participants, donors, board members, volunteers, and community
partners.

When representing Neighborhood House to internal and
external audiences, articulate the organization’s desired image and position.
Contribute to building a cohesive, respectful, responsive,
and productive staff environment that demonstrates our values and mission.
Actively participate in required meetings, trainings, and
other events as requested.
Requirements EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
Required Experience & Skills
Three years of grant writing experience, preferably in a
multi-service agency
Demonstrated ability to lead, write, and coordinate
government grants (county, state, or federal)
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in
English
Excellent problem-solving, time-management, and
organizational skills to meet tight deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively
with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial, and cultural backgrounds
Highly detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills and prospect research experience
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to work in hybrid settings as needed (comfortable
with Zoom, email, Teams, etc.)
Desired Experience, Education, & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts or social work
Prior supervisory and management experience
Budget development experience
Raiser’s Edge database experience
