Role description excerpted from the original posting for clarity and focus: Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) provide scientific and clinical expertise, facilitate scientific exchange between Lilly Medical, SEs/CEs, and external healthcare professionals, and support disease areas with strategic insights for research, development, and commercialization. Primary Responsibilities Provide leading researchers and practitioners with scientific and clinical knowledge that addresses their needs, including synthesis of the latest research on products, disease states, and standard of care for specified indications and therapeutic areas. Serve as a primary interface between Lilly Medical and SEs/CEs to support HCPs in sharing evidence and addressing clinical care gaps to improve patient outcomes; facilitate collaboration with other Lilly resources and internal partners. Collaborate with clinical development in support of studies and investigators to accelerate pipeline and evidence generation by delivering disease-state and other scientific information aligned with site identification, selection, and recruitment. Analyze customer data, plan and prioritize engagements through a strategic territory plan, and utilize tools to execute field activities with an enterprise mindset; maintain compliant partnerships across field roles and coordinate customer experiences. Synthesize and communicate actionable customer/clinical insights to internal Lilly Medical and cross-functional teams; cultivate internal networks and collaborate across functions; adapt to evolving business needs with strategic agility. Collaborate with peers and Lilly colleagues to contribute to team goals; execute the role compliantly, adhering to governing requirements, procedures, and laws. Minimum Qualification Requirements Advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) required with 2–3 years of relevant clinical experience; OR Master’s or bachelor’s degree in health sciences (e.g., BSN, RPh, PA, NP) with 5+ years of clinical, research, or industry experience in a relevant therapeutic area. Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly will not sponsor work authorization or visas. Valid U.S. driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Additional Preferences Bilingual; Spanish fluency preferred. Diabetes, obesity, and/or cardiometabolic disease experience strongly preferred. Learning agility to comprehend and communicate complex scientific content clearly. Strategic and critical thinking to analyze information and interpret its impact on future states. Interpersonal, presentation, planning, and digital skills; strong written and verbal communication. Self-directed, able to manage multiple priorities; strong teamwork and high emotional intelligence. Resilient in managing complex challenges; curiosity about science/medicine field; comfortable leveraging field-based tools and digital platforms. Experience in field-based working environments and familiarity with health systems, academic communities, medical research, and medical education processes. Knowledge of digital platform enablers to engage HCP virtually (e.g., Zoom). Additional Information Live in the geography near a major metropolitan area (Miami) and in proximity to an international airport. Field-based position requires travel up to 80%, including some weekend commitments.
