Job Responsibilities
:
The Associate Director, Leadership, is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and oversight of Texas Farm Bureau’s leadership development initiatives. This includes leading the AgLead and BLOCK programs, creating new leadership opportunities, and supporting a team dedicated to cultivating the next generation of agricultural leaders. This role plays a key part in shaping the organization’s leadership culture and ensuring alignment with long-term strategic goals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
Leadership Program Strategy and Execution
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the AgLead program, including recruitment, curriculum development, budgeting, scheduling, and evaluation.
Direct the BLOCK (Building Leadership Opportunities and Cultivating Knowledge) program to engage Young Farmer & Rancher Committee members and alumni of AgLead/FarmLead in ongoing leadership development.
Develop and launch new leadership initiatives that align with organizational goals and address emerging needs within the agricultural community.
Alumni and Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni of leadership programs to foster continued involvement and leadership within the organization.
Cultivate partnerships with external stakeholders, sponsors, and agricultural organizations to enhance program reach and impact.
Organizational Leadership Development
Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate leadership development into the broader organizational strategy.
Serve as a leadership development resource across departments, offering guidance and support for internal leadership training and succession planning.
Program Evaluation and Reporting
Establish metrics and evaluation tools to assess program effectiveness and impact.
Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders to communicate program outcomes and strategic value.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Stay informed on best practices and emerging trends in leadership development, agriculture, and adult education.
Introduce innovative approaches to leadership training, including experiential learning, mentorship, and digital learning platforms.
Other Duties
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the mission and strategic objectives of Texas Farm Bureau.
Job Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required. Agricultural background and experience preferred.
Minimum of three years’ experience managing county, state, or national programs with an emphasis in leadership development preferred; comparable experience considered.
Willing to travel as required and work weekends and after-hours.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (verbal and non-verbal).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks at once.
Working knowledge of the Farm Bureau Organization.
Valid Texas driver’s license and a driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation or disqualify the employee from the Certified Fleet Operator Status under the Company Driving and Safety Policy.

Occasional bending twisting, crouching, pulling pushing, lifting, and moving items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical aspects of setting up displays, teaching aids and delivering educational programs.
Use of personal computer, telephone, cell phone, copy machine, fax, and other office equipment more than six hours per day.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Occasional long, irregular hours, including some weekends.
Willingness to travel extensively during certain times of the year by auto or other transportation.
Work to be conducted in office environment owned or leased by company. At times, work will be conducted in a setting outside of an office environment to fully execute the scope of responsibilities. This could include time spent in hot, dusty and/or cold locations with operating machinery or livestock present.
